Hi

I'm a XP Pro-loving dinosaur using an old HP Notebook.

I'm working these days mostly with Google Chrome as my browser because a lot of the sites I visit regularly no longer work (or want to work) with IE8.

So, I ask myself, why am I keeping IE on my machine?

Can I easily get rid of it? Are there implications that I should be aware of?

That's probably true. But no website I access regularly DOESN'T work on Chrome - and this is over 18 months, now. And I will never move to Windows 10 - or 7 - or 8. I love XP!

IE 8 is obsolete because of it's ancient security protocols.

Here is a link for alternative browsers using XP. http://alternativeto.net/list/updated-web-browsers-for-windows-xp
Also this one,i have been playing around with the last several days,it supports all the way back to XP SP2.. https://cliqz.com/en/

Thank you for the info. My main concern, though, is how to uninstall IE without messing up anything else. Is it really as simple as pushing a couple of buttons?
