Every time a big windows update comes along I lose my Sata drives. It used to be fixable by selecting another driver for the sata AHCI controller. However, these alternative drivers appear to have gone, and now there is just one for the Standard SATA AHCI Controller.
Does anyone know if there is an easy fix to get SATA drives back?
I'm thinking I'll actually have to find alternatives to the Standard SATA AHCI controller and install one. And I'd appreciate any advice on where to get the most suitable one. I just need my SATA drives.

Additional info that may be helpful:

I'm running:
Windows 11 pro
Ryen 7950x in a Asus X670E motherboard.

more additonal info:
My sata drives are in a DAS device and attached to the PC with a USB 3 cable.

I've updated the driver
All my sata drives are in the bios
windows can see my nvme drives

These Directly Attached Storage drives, how are they connected - USB?
And they plug into what - a Server or PC?
And it's only the DAS units you lose, not the internal drives?

Let’s get your complete PC specs.
Get Speccy; https://www.piriform.com/speccy/builds
In Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot (hit Yes if prompted to proceed with publish) > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
Now you can paste that link into your next post.

Speccy doesn’t show the Power Supply Unit so, if a Desktop PC, list the make/model of the PSU.

Is Speccy safe?
