I'm just getting into pc's and I just built a new pc for gaming so I bought a usb that has windows 11 on it to install to the computer but every time I put in the key it gets to 23% download then shows an error code 0xc0000005.

I don't know how to fix this and help would be appreciated

So do you have another USB that you know works and you can format, download a fresh copy of windows 11 put that onto the USB to make certain that the Copy of windows and or the USB is not corrupt? Keep the Key, you paid for that already, it's just time to rule out corrupt files/hardware.

and how confident are we that they are legit; https://www.trustpilot.com/review/shopsoftwarekeys.com
how much did you pay?
Sorry I didn't reply, I payed $50 and I'm not sure that it's legit. Also if I download the media creation tool onto the current usb will it still boot or do i need another usb to make sure it not corrupt or something? I'm not good with this type of stuff or now anything about it so thanks for the help

$50 is nowhere near the recommended retail price of Windows - so pretty sure it's crap.
plus the issues you have with the USB stick all point to bogus seller, making a quick buck on the unwary.
do what you can to advertise those buggers - Facebook name and shame or whatever you can!

Use the Windows Media Creation Tool to make your own bootable copy of Windows onto one of your USB sticks. Don't use the current USB stick, we are pretty sure it's at least corrupted and may be full of other shite you don't want.

If you are really lucky, the Product Key they gave MAY be useable, but it's probably a VLK (Volume License Key) which they have stolen. These get reported to Microsoft so may already be invalid or soon will be.

As per post #7 and post #10 Use a new usb.
A basic video here on how to install and you might be able to use a current key if you are dumping an old computer.

Before doing any install, it is a good idea to go to the support page for your system. Download the drivers you are going to need i.e. chipset, sound, video, wireless, etc. Whilst Win11 has a lot of native drivers, Microsoft drivers are designed for ease of use and are NOT designed for any type of performance. Store these drivers on another usb or you can even just make a folder on your install usb when you are finished making the install usb. Copy the drivers into that folder.

When you are finished with the Windows install, then install your drivers.

  • Chipset or Motherboard
  • Sata or hard drive
  • Video adapter
  • Network interface card (NIC)
  • Audio
  • Touchpad
  • Any other hardware drivers needed for your particular model.
Reboot after installing the drivers
