i have this laptop (ASUS Vivobook 15 X512FA) which I updated some days ago. Next morning it worked fine except for WiFi connection, that didn't appear anywhere (I couldn't activate it bc the computer didn't show it).
Checked the network adapters and only WAN miniports showed up (none from Intel or Realtek which I think are the manufacturers?), so I tried to update the drivers, but didn't get a result either.
Then I decided to reset the PC (in case that solved my problem) but it didn't, so I setup Windows again without Internet connection

Now I'm right where I started : though I updated the BIOS and WLAN drivers, the network adapters don't appear, even using "ipconfig /all" in cmd (it just shows the laptop name, node type, proxy state etc.). Saw somewhere that netstat /release and /renew could work, but didn't get anything, something more I could try pls, or it looks like it's a hardware problem (like the adapter is broken or something)?

Thanks a lot

Did you check under Device manager? If not there then check further under View>Show hidden devices. If still not there then the Wi-Fi module may have failed.
You could try rolling back the update/s to see if the Wi-Fi returns.
