Hello, I have an asus g752 gaming laptop, and when I go to play online games, the Wi-Fi sometimes works for a minute then stops working. Other times it just doesn’t connect. The Wi-Fi icon says that it’s connected and secured with 5 bars. Any help?

Also, I’ve tried restarting my router, laptop, uninstalling the network adapters, and none has worked. I disabled the ipv6, and it helped a tiny bit, but still doing the same

Unless I am mistaken you told us in your previous thread here that you had resolved the issue, please clarify and if you still need help post the Speccy url as was requested in your previous thread.

You are not mistaken, I did say that the issue was resolved. I thought it was. However, it’s different now. My laptop is no longer laggy, it just won’t keep a good connection to the Wi-Fi. If I use Ethernet, it works fine. I’m not able to upload the speccy url yet, but I will soon. Thank you

Thanks for confirming, it sounds like a flaky wireless device or router atm, check for anything that could be interfering with the wireless signal, cordless phones and microwave ovens between a computer and the router are two such things that can cause issues.

I’m not able to upload the speccy url yet, but I will soon.

I will be going offline shortly so no rush on my behalf.

Only seeing a couple of things amiss in Speccy, Windows is missing two major updates 1803 and 1809 and your notebook has an Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 device but there is ASUS Wireless Radio Control software installed on the computer.

Windows 10 is shown to have been installed on the notebook on 3/31/2019, after installing Windows did you reinstall the drivers for the MB and starting with the chipset drivers first**.

** Chipset drivers must always be installed manually and never allow Windows to update any drivers when drivers from the hardware manufacturer are available, Windows has a nasty habit of installing the wrong drivers which can lead to all sorts of problems.

Cool, thank you very much for the help. What should I go about doing now? Do I just google those two windows updates to download them? And what about the wireless radio software?

Just not sure what to do with the info you gave me. Thank you very much.

So I went into settings and found 1809 and installed it. Haven’t noticed any change yet. How do I find 1803?
Also, I’m confused about the chipset thing. How do I know which one I need to install?

Thanks again.

Sorry to keep posting stuff. So I’ve updated to windows 1809, updated all chipsets (they all needed updated), and updated intel PROset wireless.

I used the command prompt to continuously ping google.com, and I get a steady ~45ms, until I open anything. I have found that I’m able to browse the internet, but as soon as I open a game, it stops working until I restart the laptop.

Any ideas?

Sorry for the delay, had no time to myself yesterday, family commitments and year end tax returns :(

Based on what you have told us in your updates it looks like it is your internet service that is the problem.

Can you run Speccy and post the updated url for us if you will.

I think I have fixed it. I went onto the asus website and downloaded the wireless driver and chipset, and it seems to be working correctly now. I was able to use it with no issues for 2 hours yesterday. I’ll post back in a week or so to update if it continues to work.

Thanks again for your help.
