Why is my download manager twice and sometimes three times as fast with my downloads as Firefox. It seems like Firefox maxes out at around 1.5 to 2mbps while my download manager maxes out at around 6mbps, why is that?

Where the browser will download the file from start to finish the download manager will use several streams at one time.

Kind of like how file sharing software works.
