whea_uncorrectable_error during gaming - BSoD

Asus - Maximus VII Hero (Haswell/Z97)
Nvidia GeForce GTX 970
W10 64x


Months and months ago.. one BSOD. Weeks later, another. Weeks later, another. Then every weekend. Now every day. Can't make it through without BSoD.


New OS install W10 64x, Nvidia drivers updated. Just sort of out of my depths. I'm really not that savvy for this stuff, especially concerning diag'ing hardware.



I know from trying to find solutions in forums that without posting dump files there's not much anybody can do to help you. Here's one from an hour ago-ish (031520-9515-01) and one from last night.


-- Brand new to this forum, just really trying to diag my issue.. do I need to replace GPU? Is something not getting power? Is it time to throw out the whole rig? etc. Any and ALL help is seriously appreciated.

Welcome to PCHF KDG85,

After clean installing Windows did you also reinstall the drivers for the MB and starting with the chipset drivers first, both are a must after reinstalling Windows.

Both crashes were caused by problems with the CPU and Wolcen.exe

Are you overclocking at all.

Have all your crashes been when playing Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem

All crashes from Wolcen, no OC. I did not update mobo drivers. Didnt know I needed to. Crashes were occurring before new OS when I was on W7. Upgraded to 10 to try to solve.

Create a new system restore point.

Download and install just the chipset drivers from here

Restart the computer and use it as you normally would to test.

Any BSOD, upload the dmp + post the brand and model name or number of the PSU for us.

Can I ask that you do not quote every reply, it really does not help any and just makes for unnecessary reading, thanks.
