I bought a 3.0 card for a rather older pc running win7. Writing data from an std, I'm only getting about 5.5MB. That's 2.0 speeds. I notice my CPU is barely doing anything and there is almost 4GB of ram available. Even tho I bought the 3.0 card is my mother board only capable of allowing x amount of data to pass. Also, if and only if the mother board isn't holding me back is there a way to allocate more CPU to the task in hopes of speeding it up a bit? Thank you in advance.

If I'm wrong to be leary I'm sorry in advance. I can get the vitals and post them after work but I'm not going to install a program some random person tells me to from the internet. If you're interested in helping get back at me

a quick Google search should help you resolve your fears regarding Speccy.
if you want to post all the info that Speccy provides, manually, yourself, you're more than welcome.
MS has something almost as good, built-in, called msinfo32 but exporting all the info it has into a file you can attach to a post will be time consuming - but you'll work it out.

as to advice from random guys - why have you asked for help on a public forum staffed by world-wide volunteers of which you know absolutely nothing about!

just saying...

Three threads started by the OP, two abandoned and in this one refusing to provide information requested by a senior PCHF tech.

PCHF is both respectable and respected which puts us in the favourable position of being able to decide who we assist, the OP obviously does not think much of PCHF or our helpers so it is for the best that the OP seek assistance elsewhere.
