Hi,

First time builder here, got the Corsair 4000x case and MSI PRO B550M-VC WIFI Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard. I was originally going to use the Corsair 4000D Case (which had no warning on PCPartPicker), but arrived in a scenario where I was able to get the 4000x for free. PCPart picker is telling me that "A USB 3.2 Gen 2 to USB 3.2 Gen 1 header adapter is required". I've found a lot about USB Gen 1 to Gen 2 headers, but I can't seem to find much about the Gen 2 to Gen 1. What exactly does this mean? Do I only need the header if I want to take advantage of the USB Gen 2 header on my motherboard (i.e. case port will it will act as a Gen 1 without it)? Or will the USB port on my case flat out not work without it? Thanks!
