Am ruining Dell OptiPlex 755 with Win 7 pro 32...explorer 11..McAfee suite...PC Matic..CC cleaner ...
In the last few days my computer has started shutting down and rebooting on its own..then tells it is recovering from an unexplained shutdown. I have not added any programs in a long time..
Any help will be greatly appreciated..
Thanks;

Hi Hilton and welcome to PCHF :)

Let's first get you started on BSOD prework as that what causes the automatic rebooting that you're experiencing.

Please follow the BSOD Prework and then wait for new logs to be generated. You can then attach them to your next post here :)

ok..the small dump was not slected so checked it..and when I went to dump file it tells me windows can't open this file and ask what program does..also there are only three files in the folder and they were created in the last two days...
Please bear with me... I am 75 yrs old and a real novice on this thing..
thanks

sorry ,but like I said I am a real dummy on this thing..
I found the folder when I slected upload file..but when I try to open it to send says I don;\'t have permission ( I get this a lot)..but I am the only one who has ever been on this unit..i am the adm..
thanks

Thanks for the dump file Hilton :)

The shutdown was caused by a McAfee driver. I don't recommend McAfee because it's not very good and is a hog of resources. I prefer Avast for free anti-virus :)

I recommend you uninstall McAfee using the McAfee removal tool, reboot, and install Avast in its place :) If you have issues, please let us know. We're here to help :)

WOW..ok..have money in McAfee but if that is what it takes I will do it.
I take it that I have to uninstall McAfee first then install Avast ?
Again, thank you for your time , help and patience ...will get started on this tonight..
