I installed a software and probably it was an infected one. So now when I switch on my laptop it gives BSOD afted 1-2 min. The main concern is that the laptop isn't going even into safe mode (tried msconfig) so that I could remove that malware. Please help me guys.

Hi San,

I have analyzed your files and they all have one thing in common: They all are caused by PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. That is a serious indication of RAM failure and/or RAM trouble.

I need you to run MemTest86 from a USB drive or CD/DVD. I have a feeling you'll be getting a lot of read/write errors to the RAM modules, but we need to be certain the RAM is the cause. There's no faults in any other DLLs, EXEs, or CAB files, which means the kernel itself is failing to write to the RAM properly.

After you have run the items suggested. Please run FRST for me, as you suspect malware. :)

Please download the FRST 32 bit or FRST 64bit version to suit your operating system. It is important FRST is downloaded to your desktop.

If you are unsure if your operating system is 32 or 64 Bit please go HERE.

Once downloaded right click the FRST desktop icon and select "Run as administrator" from the menu"

If you receive any security warnings, or the User Account Control warning opens at any time whilst using FRST you can safely allow FRST to proceed.
Frst will open with two dialogue boxes, accept the disclaimer.

  1. Accept the default whitelist options,
  2. If the additions.txt options box is not checked please select it.
  3. Then select "Scan"

Frst will take a few minutes to scan your computer, and when finished will produce two log files on your desktop, FRST.txt, and Addition.txt. They will display immediately on the desktop, but can be reopened later as a notepad file.

Somehow I enabled the safe mode and immediately resetted my pc. As of now, there are no signs of bsod. However, I'll run the tests suggested by jmarket and malnutrition and post the results.
Guys, I am an old user of this forum but since I could not access my account due to a long break, I made a new one. Thank you guys for taking the time for looking into problems and reinstating my belief in this forum.
