Stuck in Safe Mode Failure Loop

So this problem seems pretty unique and I'm completely lost on how to fix it.

I found a malware on my computer which wasn't being scrubbed while the computer was still on and boot normally, so I attempted to reboot in safe mode by pressing F8 at startup. I kept getting an error saying the computer cannot boot and kept kicking me back to startup. It even ran recovery a few times.

I went back to starting up my computer normally, which still works perfectly fine. Then I did a very stupid and irreversible thing: I went into my msconfig and set the boot to "safe boot". I THOUGHT I unchecked "make boot settings permanent"... but I must have because now I'm stuck in a boot that attempts safe mode, fails, and restarts.

I've tried basically every option in the Advanced Boot Options. I even went back to an auto restore point from the 4th, days before I changed my boot settings. No matter what I do, the computer still attempts to boot into safe mode, which is not working right now.

Any and all help would be crazy welcome!!

I was complaining to a friend who suggested the cmd prompt

Code:
bcdedit /deletevalue {default} safeboot

which worked! Now to figure out why safe mode on my computer is bunked since there aren't any registry errors or corrupted windows files that I know about :)

Was the Malware ever taken care of? That may be the reason that the system is not responding properly.
Have you posted in our Malware Removal section to make sure that it has been fully removed and there is no left overs?

After that first two things I would suggest is run and admin command prompt and do a check disk checking for bad sectors then a system file checker. A few times on each to make sure nothing is missed.
