Slow wifi speeds

What color is the wire that you have connected to which port? thinking that one of the wires has gotten missed placed and needs to be located. Should be one grey (maybe black) and one white (maybe grey).

Just to verify some information.
When you put in the different WIFI card you did remember to uninstall the old software and reference form the Device Manager for the Intel Centrino N100. Did install the software for the new WIFI card N6205.

Acer Aspire 5349 W7/64 Home Premium version 6.1 build 7601 service pack 1.
The sole antenna wire that has ever been attached/present is black (see photo when I tried it on the Aux socket on the new adapter out of curiosity). Maybe it wasn't assembled correctly?
Driver etc was installed for the 6205 adapter, not sure if I uninstalled the N100 adapter as such.
Do you think if I got another antenna, plugged it into an unused socket on the adapter and trailed it out of the case (don't fancy taking the trim off around screen) it would help?

Well it was fine from new until recently on the one antenna. Card changed and installed, aux socket used instead, only thing I haven't tried is a new/additional 2nd antenna but if I did this I would just drape it outside via a grille. Or just use ethernet wire as I don't exactly go down internet cafes or airport terminals with it.
@PeterOz tried 5GHz, router doesn't do it
Do all antennas have the same little brass connection? Because I might as well get a used antenna off eBay as it's not the signal (other machines are ok) and it's not the card (swapped). Does it have to be the exact same antenna for I dunno, tuning reasons?

It could well be that the original card can handle one wire but the new card needs two wires
That's why it is normally best to replace somethings with like for like.
