many thanks if any1 can help

Can you borrow a PSU for testing purposes.

there is also no beeps coming from the machine
Did it ever beep, you will not hear any error beeps unless there is an onboard BIOS speaker present and to reduce costs system builders very rarely include them.

im not sure if it ever beeped its only now that it aint working im thinking about beeps lol .i do have another pc but the psu has like 20 odd blocks that connect to the mother board and the shuttle only has like 12 blocks that connect to the board

The PSU is top in the order of failure rates followed by the GPU, RAM, MB and then the CPU, a PSU can also fail for no apparent reason whereas the other items of hardware most often fail because of human intervention such as OCing etc.

PSUs only tend to have the two connections to the MB, a 4 or 8 pin ATX power connector for the CPU and a 20 or 24 pin mainboard ATX power connector, any other cables from the PSU normally go direct to the hardware such as the storage devices or add on video card etc.

Did this just happen or had you been tinkering or had you had any warning signs at all.

Going offline shortly as I have an early start but will check back tomorrow some time.

yes mine is a 20 plug and a little 4 plug yellow black as well . it just went off been working good for months without issues .if it was the psu how come it still boots and the fans spinning and hd is powered on. the fan on the psu is spinning too. think its a bronze 80 power pack if that helps

As a PSU puts out various voltages +3.3V, +5V and +12V it may appear that the PSU is working correctly but it is not, any significant drop of any output can prevent the system from booting up, the other scenario is a significant increase in the output which can be worse as it can fry one or more major components such as the MB, CPU, RAM, add on video card etc.

Because the PC just went off and now powers up and down when you attempt to start the computer suggests that either the PSU is bad or something has shorted out, the fact that you get nothing on screen at all does not bode well I`m afraid.

ok so been to the pc spares dept (the loft) found 2 psu and also a convertor block 24 to 20 the first psu was the 24 block so i used the convertor powered on the shuttle the fan come on for like a few seconds and the power light come on no boot nothink would only spin heat zinc fan if i power cycled it
.the 2nd psu is quite a good 1 i think and out of a games pc think its a 1000w 20 block i pluged it in and pressed power on shuttle the psu fan lighted up in like neon blue but the shuttle dont nothink fan didnt even spin. i plug the origanal psu on and all boots up all fans spin ???. the sticker on power pack is pc63jf5-131201360 rev.01
gana look on ebay mayb take a chance. whats your views on the other psus
many thanks scully

sorry to extra post only just found a psu so the new question is.

Any replacement PSU must have an equal or above power output of the original PSU, this is particularly important when there is an add on video card present as they dictate what the minimum output of the PSU needs to be, your computer would not of had a 500W PSU fitted as stock if it were not required.

I personally would not purchase anything until you have done one of the following, tried a known good 500W PSU or had a local tech take a look at the computer, check what they may charge first.

too late i already got it lol was only cheap if it boots it il get the proper one after at least i know if it was psu also the graphic card i got in it at the mo dont run direct of the psu hopfully that might save me some juice and the 250w might power it up .il update once fitted it should arrive 2mora fingers crossed

Depending on what video card is in the Shuttle 250W may not be enough to power up the system as any add on GPU without a supplemental power dongle still requires the system be powered by a PSU of a certain wattage.

It would be wise to remove any add on video card and use the onboard video port while you are troubleshooting this.

yes i missed the dpd delivery coming 2mora however ive tryed the shuttle psu on my old pc i had to conect both the 4 yellow atx plugs for the other power conector on the board and bingo it fired my old pc straight up .also ive took the old beep speaker of the old pc its on a 4 plug but with only 2 wires yellow and black but i do not no what connectors it goes on on the board i have a power switch led lights hd light which i could try on the shuttle i will post a link to pc manual if any1 could please mayb tell me where the speaker goes least get some kind ov error beep
many thank scully

The four pin speaker normally connects to the front panel header alongside the case power button, reset button and HDD activity LED etc, it is very hard to see anything in that set up picture but I am not seeing such a front panel header on that board I`m afraid :(

Can`t say as we don`t know if you have a I7-3770K!

i do have a sisterboard on the front i got some pics but cant uplaod for some reason but theres some numbers but google draws a blank there is 2 sets of jumpers and i see audio 1 audio 2 u may no where to look to find some info but i dont the info looks like this

94v-0

Sorry that your update was not better news but thank you for concluding your thread, not getting anything using that info but fwiw the speaker header normally looks like the one in the attachment.

You are welcome btw (y)
