Hello guys, i have amd radeon r7 200 series and it has 3 ports (hdmi, displayport and DVI-I dual link)..i use already hdmi so i bought a displayport adapter to hdmi but my pc doesnt recognise the second monitor..i enabled it from bios, checked all the drivers and still nothing..any ideas? Thanks for your time, stay safe!

Hello jigsawsavvas,

Do you get any on screen message at all, No Signal for example.

Do you have a link to the type of adaptor that you have purchased.

Have you checked that it is not a setting on the monitor as in you have to select the type of port where the monitor looks for a signal.

Thanks for the link, reason why it was asked for was to make sure that it was not a HDMI to Display Port adaptor, seen this done in the past.

My questions one and two are addressed below;

when i try to select input it shows me that hdmi cable is connected to monitor but when i choose it, it says no signal
Selecting the input does need to be done and is correct which leaves the No Signal message, what this means is that your screen is ok and that the problem is either with the source of the video signal (the video card) or the cable that is carrying the video signal from the GPU, short version, your screen is ok and the issue is with the either the GPU or the adaptor.

Have you made sure that Windows is set to work on a second display.

Or the adaptor!

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Edit to add: Not sure what you mean by the below as I have never come across such a setting in the BIOS, a second screen is post BIOS and therefore taken care of by Windows and/or the add on GPU software;

as i said i enabled it also from bios..

I will post them as soon as i got home..i have another question that u might can help :D i want the second monitor just for chilling at chrome or watching twitch with gaming..can i connect it straight to the mother board?

Some MBs you can but with most you can`t, if the option is available you will find it in the BIOS, based on the information that you have provided it suggests to me that you have the screen connected to a video port on the MB while there is an add on video card present so no wonder you are getting a no signal message from the MBs video port.
