Home built PC, been running fine for 2 years

Asrock B450M board
Ryzen 5 3400 CPU
32G DDR4
Win 10 fully updated

Scroll up is stuck on in Windows, Chrome and Brave. When I click the speaker icon the volume slider scrolls to zero. So far I have:

Tried different mouse
Uninstall/reinstall driver
Switched USB ports
Unplugged keyboard
SFC scan
System restore to a known good config
System reset

I'm stumped, can anybody help? Thanks and have a great day!

what sort of keyboard: USB, PS/2, wireless?

with the keyboard disconnected and the PC off, when you start the PC is "scroll stuck" still?

and what is "scroll stuck" - the Scroll Lock key, the up arrow, left arrow??

does this happen when in Safe Mode?

Thanks for the replies! It's a wireless keyboard, I just tried booting W/O it, didn't help. I didn't think about safe mode, does the same thing.

Scroll stuck means it wants to scroll up or down constantly, it occurs mainly in Windows file explorer, settings and when navigating my bookmarks. Is there any way to post a vid here?

Here is something to try a bit drastic yet. Maybe clean the keyboard and mouse. Are these the only wireless one that you have?

Unplug the system and drain the capacitors.

Disconnect the dongles for the wireless and connect a USB.

Reconnect the power turn on the computer

Reboot and see if that helps.

if not then

Go into the device manager and remove the references for the keyboard and mouse may have to select show hidden devices.

Uninstall the software and drives for the wireless keyboard.

How long does it take for the caps to drain?

Here's another wrinkle, right after I rebooted from safe mode I can't open Youtube, says I'm not connected to the internet and I get this message trying to load Google and Ebay:

Your connection is not private

Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.google.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).

I'll see if I can scare up a corded mouse and KB, Winderz installed KB drivers, no 3rd party software installed.

I have a corded mouse but no KB, still looking.

I booted safe no networking, I didn't need the net to recreate the problem,. Network is hard wired. Standard boot went as usual but my start page on Brave is google and the error appeared in normal mode. FWIW Amazon does the same thing. PC date, time and zone are spot on.

With all of these problems popping up I might pay a visit to Mr. FDISK and be done with it.

If you are going to do a reset, then backup if you have not already. personal files ONLY
Mr. FDISK
ummm no longer exist... Replaced by Mrs. Diskpart

NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID

Here are a few things that I have ran across looking into this
Reset the browser to factory.
Clear the Browers cashe and cookies
Update the browser
Sinc the computers date and time
Turn off the VPN
Disable the security

Whichever way you want to go on this we will be here to assist

Ok, I took KB and mouse to a friends house, Windows auto installed the drivers and no scroll lock...both worked perfectly.

I've been using the FORMAT cmd in win 10, is DISKPART better?

Browser was a fresh install and update Monday after system reset, should not need update or files cleaned?

Syncd time, no difference

No VPN

I am running Malwarebytes premium, Ublock Origin and the imbedded shields in Brave, turned off all to no avail.

I keep my OS and program files on 1 drive and personal files on another for just such emergencies!

Ok, I give up. After formatting the setup windows were scrolling on me, I obviously have a hardware problem. On top of that I had no internet after the format. If I unplug my PC the net comes back for the rest of the house, plug it in and it kills the network. Time for a new PC.
