AMD is the brand of your processor and video chip, the update I ask about will be shown in your Windows update history, do you know how to check this, the update concerned was showing in your Speccy report, the problem that people are having with the said update is that it is stuffing up their graphics and when they roll back to the previous driver version Windows is installing the same bad update on next boot.

i'm not sure how to check this or how to update, how do I do this ?
Oh and when I go to shut down my computer still says "update then shut down" but when I click that it doesn't update it just shutsdown

To check the Windows Update History, follow these steps -

  1. Type Windows update on the search bar, then, click on Check for updates tab.
  2. Click on Advanced option under Windows Update tab in the Update and Security Window.
  3. Click on View your update history in the Advanced option Window.
  4. From here you can see all of your recently installed updates. If the one Phil mentioned is there, please confirm. He will then walk you through the next steps.
Hope that helps :).

here are the screens that show what I'm looking at and the third picture is was constantly happens with my pc when I'm trying to pretty much do anything, also when I turn my computer on I cant read all of what it says because of my resolution but it says something along the lines of "Fan is not booting press f1 to start pc anyway" I don't know why my fan just stopped working either.
Thank you for all your time help and patience with these issues.

If you look at your second screenshot you will see the AMD driver update that I mentioned in my reply #22, uninstall the driver using DDU which you can download for free from here

See how it goes using Windows own generic video drivers, if all goes well you should then stop Windows from automatically installing device driver updates so that it does not reinstall the same bad driver, guide for this here

Can you post the exact model name or number of the Dell computer so we can look for the appropriate drivers.

See guide here

The Dell should have a name on it somewhere like Inspiron or XPS as a couple of examples and a service tag which you should be able to get from the BIOS;

At startup, press F2 to load the BIOS > The Service Tag should be displayed along with the other computer information.

i took a picture of the setup screen from my phone because you cant see the whole of the screen because of the resolution settings and you can see that from this picture too.
Does that help? thank you

You have an OptiPlex 580. have included the link should any drivers be needed but for now leave things as they are until we have your next update.

Have you been able to follow the other steps in my reply #29, if not, post back and let us know.
