Saying CPU is not supported

So my pc is having this issue where it is saying that the CPU isn’t supported even though my motherboard and cpu have been working together fine for the last year. I’m guessing that the CPU just isn’t working. Any help or suggestions to fix?

I’ve left an image of the error screen attached

Hello

It looks like the pc has some age on it.. What OS are your using? Have you done any updates to your pc? Please give us your complete pc spec's..
I have an i5 2400 cpu, a gtx 970 and a hp pavilion pro 3300 motherboard with an LGA1155 socket. And I haven’t recently updated the pc as I haven’t been able to get past the bios screen.
