hello this is my first thread here I just wanted to know that I just reassembled my old pc and I don't want to use speakers there are 3 audio ports in my motherboard so will earphones be able to connect to them or I have to buy a headphone because I cant get them to connect I also have a 2 in one adapter which uses only one earphone for mic and audio

What is the make and model of the motherboard and you could go to the manufractures sire to find that information.

Usually Red/Pink is for the Mic
Greenish is for the speakers/headphone

I also have a 2 in one adapter which uses only one earphone for mic and audio
on the motherboard or are you talking about the cable?

Hope the image helps

I know what you are saying and I used the information but it is not working when I connect my earphones nothing happens I had a usb adapter for my earphones but it got broken so I needed to use the ones on motherboard would earphones work on them if so how ??

Make sure to answer everything to the best of you knowledge.

What are the make and model of the earphones?

What connection are at the end of the earphones? Color?

for the motherboard it is an ecs old crap motherboard and earphones are just local earphones that work on mobiles usually, I used it on my laptop though and the motherboard model is ecs H61H2-M17 also the adapter i have has green and red and the markings are mic and headphones

What version of operating system?

Plus have you checked the volume setting to make sure that they are not muted or turned down?

Unless that earphone are an all in one type and you are attempting to connect them with out a splitter that looks simular to this

If no then you will need to get one. Could also be that they do not unless you have installed the drivers. Do you have a another set and or speakers that you could test with.

The windows i am using is windows 8/8.1 and the audio topic aside
i urgently want help my pc is stuck at bios doesnt start nor open the motherboard menu to start os it just restarts and stuck at bios again and again

Yes I have the same adapter and about volume settings it doesn't be happening as the PC is showing no sound device is installed and I troubleshooted but nothing happened I don't have any other set of speaker or I had but now they are all broken and doesn't work plus I had an usb to jack adapter through which I heard sounds and used the mic but now it's broken so I want to use the one in motherboard

fixed the BIOS looping issue you were having or fixed the whiole thing?

Here is the site for you motherboard where you can download the drivers for the sound drivers.

one other thing you can try is creating a new user account and login under that and see if the issue replicates.
I fixed the bios looping issue and for the audio thanx for the info on drivers may need them in the future but for now I have bought a usb sound card adapter and it works perfectly

I don't know I haven't tried the drivers but my pc has another problem so I think we can continue this thread to that problem and I can rename the thread if there's any function like that available

No there is no way for a user to make that change.

If this is a different issue other than the audio issue that was the reason for this thread you will have to create a new thread for that issue.
