"Reboot and select proper boot device' - Issue

Status

I accidentally lifted my pc and slightly knocked it against the ground by the headphone wire as I stood up. The pc instantly read:

"reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media drive in selected boot device."

I have tried all possible software solutions that I have found online. I have noticed that there is no Windows option for the boot order as well. This makes me think that it is a hardware issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

+1 with the HDD.

they are fickle beasts, a good knock and they are fine, the slightest bump and they die.
the difference is a roll of the dice sometimes.

desktop or laptop PC?

I would be taking out the drive and putting it into an external enclosure to a) see if it's readable, and b) recover any available data.

then it's time for a new drive and reload of Windows!
