Random Computer Freezes

Status
Not open for further replies.
Ever since I upgraded my computer, I have had issues with it freezing. Sometimes it will freeze, as I said, but mostly if I turn the monitor off and go to turn it back on a few hours later, it doesn't come out of sleep mode. Each time it freezes and/or gets stuck in sleep mode, the red light that signifies if the harddrive is reading/writing turns off. I think it is an issue with RAM, seeing as how one of the RAM cards went bad a couple of months ago and prevented my PC from working until I removed it. This issue is happening more and more this week for some odd reason, and I fear that if it is the RAM card, it will give out soon. It is also very annoying because my PC takes anywhere form 10-20 minutes to fully boot because of my harddrive. I cannot find anything online, so I came here for help.

GPU is 1050ti

You put the RAM card back in?

How much faster does it boot up if that RAM card is missing?

Are you sure that you have the RAM cards in the proper slots?

After the system boots does it run normally?

Does this happen in Safe Mode?

I never put the RAM card back in, I had two. If I put it back in, it would not boot at all.
I have the RAM cards in the proper slots, yes.
The system runs normally after it reboots.
I have not tried to run the PC in safe mode.

What makes you say there is an issue with your hard drive? Long boot times can be caused by other issues as well as your drive.

Can you follow this guide and give us your PC specs so the experts may assist.

Please go HERE and download the portable version of Speccy. Save it to somewhere you can find, locate the file and as it comes as a Zip file use your favorite unzip application to decompress it. Open the newly created folder and double left click Speccy.exe if you have a 32 bit system or Speccy64.exe if yours is 64bit. If you are not sure what your system is click HERE. BTW: once you have finished with speccy and no longer want it removing it is easy because it is a portable app with no install. Simply delete the downloaded file and folder you created when you decompressed it. Gone:thumbsup:
