Random black screens persist through reboot

Hi guys ^^
I've been coping with a really bad problem. I resfreshed my pc, format and new windows installation, and now every now and then my monitor will lose its feed from the computer. Sometimes it goes together with a crash and sometimes I can still hear the software working perfectly. Now, this wouldn't he as weird if it wouldn't persist through a hard reboot. The monitor won't regain its feed although gpu seems to be working, still. Then I cut the power and if I boot it after everything works again. I'm kind of at a losspe

Also, if I'm in a fullscreen application (in my case rainbow six: siege) and I alttab 3 things can happen:
1. Same black screen but alttabbing back to the game fixes it
2. Alttab works (0.1% chance)
3. Total crash (0.5% chance)

Quitting the game has the same effect

Specs:
Win10
Nvidia gtx970
i7-4400 i believe (if necessary I'll check)
8GB RAM
(Latest nvidia drivers ofc ^^)

As I'm confused of the cause, let me know if you need more specs I'll edit them in here.

Also; I have a vague feeling it might be nvidia share or so, but turning geforce exlerience off didnt help at all. Then again, geforce experience is quite annoying a program so maybe it doesnt shut down the way I think?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: something new happened: in-game, got loss of video feed, alttabbed and got it back on my desktop. Weird. Restarted game: total reboot and when rebooted black screen again. Restarted game after hard reset: happened again when joining.

Hi Temojikato, Welcome to PCHF! :)

I would reseat your video card and blow out any dust or debris that has accumulated inside the computer and see if that makes any difference.

Refer to this video for instructions:

Would this even be possible as the case, since it happens on alttab too ? I can forcefully make it happen, wouls be weird if that's part of dust or reseating, is it not?

Nevertheless I'll get it done ^^ was more of a question out of interest.

It could be a loose connection from the motherboard to the video card so its a good idea to rule that out. Also if you haven't yet I would try another display cable that goes from your video card to your monitor as a loose cable can also cause the same problems.

Ok, so I'm going to try it all, BUT: even if you're right this is for my own knowledge;
If this were the case it would explain the random reboots/crashes, but how about those I can force? Like alttabbing out of siege?
