Hi all. Quick question: I'm running an Asus Prime B250M-Plus with 2 Akasa Piranha 120mm case fans on it and a CPU fan (Pure Wings 2) on my heatsink. When gaming, the RPM control is great for keeping temps down and I have seen massive improvement in my temperatures. However when idle, the fans are just too loud for my liking. Is it possible to bring the fan curve in ASUS BIOS down so that they don't turn on until about 40-45 degrees on the CPU? The heatsink fan is nice and quiet so I can keep that one on and intend to do so, but I want to keep the chassis fan headers off until such times as gaming requires them, at which point I'll have headphones on so it's OK. I've heard tell from some people that PWM headers won't go all the way down and fans will still run when at 0%, and also that it can cause some problems so I'm not entirely sure what to believe. I know the ASUS BIOS on EZ mode shows the RPM of each fan and I presume advanced mode gives individual fan curve control, but I don't really know what I'm doing here.

I have the same board. In EZ MODE click on QFan Control in the centre. This opens the Fan settings, and each fan recognised by the Motherboard, you have Five options. Example click on Fan one and set to one of the five options, then Fan two and do the same.
When finished click F10 save and exit. No you can't set them to start at a certain temp.
Case Fans not recognised, your stuck with the speed and noise. Or buy yourself a cheap fan controller. This is what I did.
Then you can adjust the speed of every fan hooked up to the controller.
Can't reply again as I have Family issues to take care of.Sorry.

Thank you very much for the response. I found out that both of my case fans were set to DC and not PWM, so I set them to PWM and now it's nice and quiet. They were both running at about 1200RPM but now are less than half, increasing with CPU temp for when I game. You've been very helpful.
