aten petite 2 port ( usb )
my ps2 is a linksys 2 port
the linksys was much better for me
and had hot key swopping ( no buttons ) worked every time

the kvm works fine with a linksys ps/2 kvm
it switches from active monitor / mouse / keyboard
to a blank screen etc since there is no second computer connected ( no lead )
it switches back no prob although there is a few seconds delay
worth mentioning : the 2 computers ( which have identical motherboards ) have a ' ps/2 enable ' button
in the bios/uefi
a third computer which does not ? will only work with the mouse OR the keyboard
. .not both as long as they are plugged in the mouse side of the splitter ( standard wiring for ps/2 . . pins 1 3 4 5 )
i need to sort this but web information is lacking
perhaps 3rd party drivers are available for win10
anyway i booted the computer accessed the internet wrote this post using my ps2 keyboard / mouse kvm
thanks
reg

i'm alright now its sorted . . their reply is of no consequence now but
how ps/2 wiring on one of their motherboards can be private and confidential
beggars belief
it only goes to show that 3rd party lead makers are guessing what the wiring is
then stating 'might not work on every motherboard' . . . joke

observation :
i have experienced on 2 different computers
that ps2 kbd/ms work fine until they get into the windows environment
esp installing an o/s . . the mouse will work infinitum until any key on the kbd
is pressed . . then they both freeze
help please!

i have 2 splitters wired as post 40
they work with my 2 main computers with a linksys ps2 KVM
the motherboards both have a ps2 enable option

a third computer has no ps2 enable
ps2 works fine until it boots into windows
the mouse will work infinitum until any key on the keyboard is pressed
then kbd/mouse freeze
this isn't an issue for me because i use usb on this machine ( and others )
but it might be for other users ( if this happens )
so a fix would be good
i dont think its the splitter since i made a parallel splitter ( kbd/ms going to pins 1345 )
that wouldn't work with anything

disregarding the monitor

ps2 keyboard / mouse------> lynksys ps2 kvm i/p's

lynksys kbd/ms o/p's 1 --->splitter----> computer1 ( single mini din )
lynksys kbd/ms o/p's 2 --->splitter----> computer2 ( single mini din )

this works on my motherboards that have a ps2 enable option

theres problems ( not kvm related ) using the splitter on mobos
with no definate ps2 option ???

i can supply a drawing if req
thanks
reg

to summerise
the mouse socket of the splitter ( pins 1345 ) must go to pins 1345 of the plug
the kbd socket of the splitter ( pins 1345 ) must go to pins 2346 of the plug
ie pins 3&4 ( pwr ) are common to both skts
enable ps2 in the bios
if a seller ( esp on ebay ) says its defo a ps2 splitter . . . make sure he's hooked up to a lie detector when he says it

pleased to share this
I contacted gigabyte again and got this response

Question: THANKS FOR ABSOLUTELY NO SUPPORT
WHATSOEVERFOR A FUNDAMENTAL CONNECTIVITY ISSUE
AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED GIGABYTE CAN SHOVE
THEIR PRODUCTS WHERE THE SUN DON'T SHINE

SO THIS IS THE OFFICIAL WIRING

gigabyte ps2.JPG

IT SEEMS THAT THE MOUSE AND KEYBOARD SOCKETS ARE REVERSED ( but makes no difference on my system )
ie kbd 1345 ( at the plug of the splitter )
ms 2346 ( at the plug of the splitter )
