Hi!

I'm using Private Character Editor long time and now I'm going to install secondary OS and need to transfer data from always never seen TTE file.
I have created near 500 characters and each who reads this knows that copying one by one with copy & paste is big job.
EUDCEDIT always allows store it to TTE file - but I never saw this file and never found when I was searching for.
Anybody can argument: Look into Character Map and you'll see private characters in single font
But again I used Charmap and Babelmap and never saw it.
But data must to be anywhere stored - where is it? I hope that first time I get help.

Thank you for each idea.
Miro

Yes, in registry there the files are like I stored them - but cannot find any of them!
Even I enable system protected file view. No matter your help is like birthday gift, really no one before helped so.

You may disregard everything I have posted to this point. You may also disregard every word written on every link I have referred you to.

I could not duplicate anything I read. Until I did. But, a very important piece of information was missing. You can create the "new characters" and view them and use them from Character Map exactly as advertised. I am certain you have had success to this point. BUT - The ephemeral TTE file does not exist, even though you can see and use the character. But you never created the actual font.

To do this, EUDCedit.exe (from Private Character Editor) select FILE, FONT LINKS
Select "Link with selected fonts" radio button (I had no success with "All Fonts")
Select Save As - dialog box will open to ..\username\appdata\low\microsoft\windows\eudc

I saved file as Antman.TTE
Then, I searched for it. It DOES NOT exist as saved. Only a shortcut to that location and filename exists.

Hi!
Really unbelievable! It works!
Even I tried to copy it to XP and font is shown in Character Map...
Only one thing I got not to work - running EUDCEDIT.
I write command, it opens EUDCEDIT and in less than second closes window. I tried it also in Safe Mode as admin...
But really your help is unbelievable, can I share your help? Of course with your nickname Antman or if you want real name.
You can mark thread as solved.
Thank you friend.
Thank you veeeeery much!

I am the Antman. googoogajoob

EUDCedit is just another name for Private Character Editor. Are you reporting that it will no longer function? If yes, which version of Windows?

If you are launching it from the command line, try
start eudcedit.exe

I used command line logged in safe mode as admin, entered command eudcedit and happened written above.
It was after transfer TTE into virtual machine with XP SP3 x86.
I wanted only link it with all fonts.
Saving characters in 10 I'm doing by link to selected font and then link with all fonts.
This it needs to be common for each installed font.

I have no idea what you just said.
In XP, navigate to C:\Windows\System32\eudcedit.exe and double click (or create a shortcut and place it as you see fit).

or, from a command prompt, C:\>start eudcedit.exe

I found the problem, but don't have solution.
Before copying TTE to fonts folder EUDCEDIT works correctly. After copying TTE into fonts folder and starting in moment closes.
Then I tried to remove TTE from font list and EUDCEDIT again works without problem. I tried also copy TTE into fonts folder while EUDCEDIT running, but private chars of course not available.
How to solve this?
