Ram taken out, cleaned and back in A2 where it always was, CMOS removed for 15 minutes. Keyboard in USB2.0, monitor connected to motherboard port, power back on.

Still the same, 2 soft beeps, nothing to keyboard or monitor.

Follow the standard safety checks then remove the RAM from the MB altogether, connect the video cable, power cord and the keyboard then press the power on button, if you get three beeps with the RAM removed it suggests that the RAM and the memory slot are ok and that the problem lays elsewhere.

You are welcome and not at all, I never give up on a thread as long as the OP is still around.

Long shot, but while waiting on the CMOS battery and/or keyboard to be available you could do some additional testing, trying the RAM in the other slots and leaving the present CMOS battery out over night and then putting it back in as a couple of examples.

NB: Not been suspecting the PSU for this as it is one of the best range that Corsair have made, the proof being that even if seven years old it stlil has three years of warranty left on it.

Thanks. I'll try the other RAM slots over the next couple of days. Unfortunately I'm in quarantine for 10 days, so can't just pop to the store :giggle:. Hopefully I'll have the items in a couple of days.

Again, I am extremely grateful for your help.

I have tried all 4 RAM slots with the same results, nothing. I have also tried a PS/2 keyboard. The lights flickered for a split second then went off.

Still waiting for a new CMOS battery.

Ask a local tech or tech store what they will charge for testing the system, under no circumstances should you go to the likes of PC World etc, they are clueless.

Alternative RAM and PSU need to be tried in the PC, I could be wrong but I reckon that the PSU will be ok but not confident that the RAM is.

At this point getting the system tested using someone else's parts is the cheapest option, we wouldn`t want you spending anything that you do not need to.

You are welcome and please do keep us advised, good luck meanwhile (y)

Had someone come round and look at my pc, had to wait for my quarantine to finish. The PSU is working ok, the RAM is ok, the motherboard is not ok. It appears the board has decided life's not worth living anymore.
I've decided it's not worth getting this replaced so I'm going to order a brand new PC. I've retrieved all my data from both drives so that's one good thing.

Many thanks for your help. This thread can be closed now.
