last year I had to get a roof repair done urgently, I made a claim (which was rejected) as part of this claim I was instructed to install a "helper app" to aid tracking my claim the bloody thing is still popping up every time I start my computer nothing I have tried has removed it. can anyone suggest a fix?

Was this an app downloaded from a website or the MS App Store? What is the name of the app?
Can you provide a screenshot?
Have you tried searching for the app/program?
I would check under task manager>startup apps to see if the app is listed.

no it was a link sent to me by the claims assessor, you would think that you could go into the start menu and exclude it but I have not been able to do this I can just delete each time it pops up when I log in to my computer but it annoys me as the claim was rejected on what I think was dodgy grounds

Autoruns Scan.

This tool list everything that is starting when you boot your computer, also many other items starting at various times. Should be no issue find and disable your issue.

Download Autoruns and Autorunsc Unzip it to your desktop and then double click autoruns.exe
After the scan is finished then click on File>>>>>>>>>>>Save
The default name will be autoruns.arn make sure to save it as Autoruns.arn under the file type option.
Attach the text in your next reply. If the file is too large, then use catbox.moe or filedropper.com and send the link in your next reply.

You could attach the requested file, as well as this please.

Step 2: Get System Info Log.

Include in your next reply a Get System Info log.
Save it to your desktop when complete.
Once you have the file on your desktop, then upload it here.
Copy the URL after your report is loaded.
Then send us the link. :)

So you clicked on the link & that pop up appeared?
Did it open Edge or another browser first?
Have you cleared out the browser cookies & history & completely closed Edge? If you right click on the Edge icon in the taskbar does it show this entry? I would click on exit to fully close Edge
There’s an icon on the taskbar which looks like a life belt, this is active so may be for the pop up. What is this icon for?

sorry to be so slow but at 83 I am not as quick as I used to be

it looks as though I need to upgrade my net-framework to later than 2.0 I am surprised that it needs upgrading as I only installed 11 about 3 months ago, is this right?, I do not want to cock things up, this came up when I tried to get the report
