Last I knew WOT has got that problem stopped & resolved.
Quoted from WOT Services

In a blog post published on December 19, 2016, WOT Services stated that they had upgraded their browser extension, and released it in the Google Chrome extension gallery. The upgraded version included "several major code updates in order to protect our users privacy and an opt-out option from the user Settings, for users who do not wish to share data with us but still want to have easy access to WOT."[21] In February 2017, Mozilla reinstated the WOT browsing tool in the Firefox add-on store.[22]

So it looks as if they did by giving you the option to opt out.

WOT is a great browser addon and always has been. Should you choose not to activate "Real Time protection" which is unnecessary for the app to advise you, NO data will be collected. The privacy policy HERE clearly details this in the "Opt Out Rights" section.

Here's how to disable data collection, which according to their privacy policy is probably less invasive than many other so called trusted sites and apps.
