Recently I had a tech working on my computer and he booted up my system from a bootable thumb drive. When he finished (btw, he didn't fix anything *sigh*) I noticed that all these phantom CD drives had been created.
When I asked him what the heck he did, he just said, "Don't worry, they're nothing..." and left. Needless to say, I won't be hiring him again.
Anyway, I can not get rid of them. They have no properties If I click on them, the computer just asks me to "Please insert a disc into drive (whatever letter). " If I try to eject I get,"An error occurred while ejecting 'CD Drive (whatever letter).
Apart from it's being annoying, it's actually screwing up some of my apps that look for libraries, etc., are other peripheral drives whose drive letters have been hijacked by these phantom CD drives.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
