Performance issues 2080, apex legends and more...

used to think I knew it all about pc's, until this happened. 90-120 fps in apex legends, 114hz monitor with an overclocked 2080. I have tried no overclock, I have tried np MSI afterburner, no ge-force experience, or overplay. Still, rubbish fps, this pc about 1-year-old and I have had some problems before like bios, black screen of death because of it. But I've always managed to have 144fps stable, some NVdia updates I had to roll back due to AWFUL performance. But nothing I do changes the outcome, still 100 fps... my GPU seems to be at about 50-60% AS WELL as my CPU. (on apex legends). On rocket league, my GPU is on 50% while CPU is on about 12% but I don't have many problems with rocket league etc. (ONLY OCCASIONALLY)

pc specs are: -144hz ben q xl2411p monitor -ryzen 7 2700x (3.7hz stock I believe, but it's now on 4.0hz) -GIGABYTE b450 aourus elite motherboard -corsair 750w power supply -gigabyte aourus RTX 2080 GPU,PCIe v3.0 x16 (8.0 GT/s) @ x16 (8.0 GT/s) (8gb) (GDDR6 SDRAM) (256-bit) -windows 10 pro -gigabyte wifi card -7x Corsair LL120 RGB fans corsair 2 fan, rgb ll120, cpu liquid cooler - corsair rgb pro vengeance ram x2 (DDR4-2133 / PC4-17000 DDR4 SDRAM UDIMM) (3200mhz) -Wd black 1tb hardrive -wd black 500gb pcie mini ssd -baracuda 4TB Desktop Hard Drive 3.5" SATA III 6GB's 5400RPM 256MB Cache (apex legends is installed on) latest windows update and Nvidia drivers, version (457.3).

the motherboard is on f1 (which is the first bios update) as I believe all the others are not supported by pc.

benchmark scores on heaven seem okay and stable fps (144) I'm 1080p monitor I just don't get why I'm only getting 100 fps in apex legends? is it dodgy power supply? motherboard? drivers? My hardrives????? the list goes on, 5 days of self troubleshooting and I've got nowhere.

Not a gamer myself so not much help when it comes to FPS but over the years through helping people I have found that when it comes to online gaming there are two things that hinder gaming, a poor internet connection and browser security plug ins, sort them and you are usually good to go.

We can take a look at your hardware and software etc but I would suggest that if the issue is only with Apex Legends you should check the Apex technical help forums where you just may find the answer, if not, you can ask for help from folks that are familiar with this specific game, those forums here

Meanwhile can you tell us the exact model of 750W Corsair PSU it is that you have and post a Speccy url for us;

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

We can see a few issues going on in Speccy but I`m sorry to say that while you have Bitsum on the computer we cannot help you, to be able to do so we need a clean machine running at stock settings.
