PC wont switch on

Hello
I have been having issues with trying to switch on my PC for a week now. The idle light is on in the mother board but the button does nothing.
Iv tried a diff power supply, iv tried starting it without the gpu or ram in, iv tried swoping the restart and power buttons around on the mother board, Iv striped out the pc completely and cleaned everything and iv tried using a screw driver at the pin on the mother board to switch it on, but still no luck.
Weirdly enough 3 times out of 4 iv taken the pc for a car ride around the area and when i try switching it on when i get home it works!
The one time it ddint work with the car ride it was not sitting on my lap, but every other car ride its been on my lap. (it only switches on after a car ride)
If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Richard

and pushing vger's point further, I would strip out all the components and re-assemble it all again.
that way you cover vger's point as well as any potential dust build-up, shorting out issues, re-thermal paste the CPU etc.
of course, you need to be confident with a screwdriver AND know some basics about PC parts, but Google can be your friend here.

Hello
The motherboard is 1 year old and the cpu is around 2 or 3 years.
I did also have a feeling about the motherboard but i didn't have much "proof" in my mind to definatly say yes its the board.
But i have taken it in to the shop to get looked at because having to take it everyday for a car ride is getting stupid and irritating and hard on petrol.
I will keep you guys updated on the out come when i hear back If guys are intrested.
Thanks for your help.
Richard
