pc wont start until after restore

I am using W7. I upgraded to w10 when it became available, didn't like it and my printer all in one wouldn't work, so went back to w7.

bought a new printer and upgraded to w10. w10 was unusable, but old printer still worked.

I am back on w7 and contemplating a new pc, but don't want to get it yet.

My pc will not start, it freezes at various stages, if it gets to desktop I get a message that some windows component could not be loaded, and it then freezes. if I go into safe mode and restore to the last saved restore point, it is then ok for a couple of days.

I have done sfc/scannow which reports all is well with no system conflicts. I have run avg. housecall, and avast AV. also search & destroy and CClean.
I have also disabled some start programs which were not needed, others seem ok.

the restore points are often windows updates, which are recent, yet w7 is no longer supported. I have turned update off, but after a start up freeze I find that it is turned back on.

Si.

I have had seen systems that have done well doing it that way and others that have had issues and I ended up doing a factory reset.

May have removed system files and registry entries that were needed for the system to run correctly. Even the revert back to windows 7 could have cause this as well.

If you have not done so already when you can access the system even if in Safe Mode back up you personal files onto an external storage device.

the problem started long after I went back to w7 up until then I had no problems, it was also going on a few weeks/months before I did the AV thing, (although AV was always running)
I have found a work around by going into hibernate rather than closing down and (so far) all is well.
noted about backup I have done this not long ago, but will do it again.

any new information?
haven't got around to digging out the w7 disc yet, as whilst pc is working, which is is by using hibernate, I am busy catching up on some work. but I will get around to doing it, I assume that it's something under start up or shut down. but like I say I will get to it again when I get chance, assuming of course that it keeps working.

Thank you for letting us know.

We do not leave threads unlocked for extended periods of time. Should the thread get locked PM one of the Admins to have it unlocked to continue resolving the current issue.
Have found the w7 recovery Cd and tried it. I get message

'windows installation encountered an unexpected error. verify that the installation sources are available. and restart the installation. error code. 0xE0000100'

I have tried it 3 times.

The most common cause of this error is a Windows disk partition that became corrupt and inaccessible because of disk read write errors.

This can be also triggered by bad sections in your computer’s hard disk.

Give you this error when?
At witch screen?

Before we go much further back up your personal files.

Lets try a check disk on the computer first.

cmd brings up....C:\Users\Simon>

put in CD. got W7 window, install. select version. Premium. then error.

it wouldn.t do chkdsk message, not allowed or something.

I think that I may have the wrong disk as this one is marked dell and the laptop is HP. although the disk says'already installed on computer' which of course it is. there is also a recovery version in partition D/ but I have been through piles of cd's and not found another. it was w7 installed (not an upgrade) as the w7 licence is attached to laptop.

I will have another go at chkdsk tommorow.

The access and use the recovery partition.

What is the Make and Model of the HP so we can get the proper instruction on how to run the recover partition.

Try this to see if it any help.

That is correct that is made for a specific Dell computer and if it does not read that it is a Dell then you get the result;ts. Even if you were able to get it to install the drivers that are on that disk were for another system and would not work. If the system even booted at all.
