Hey, so the problem im facing is that, my OS wont boot from my PC. The thing is I have tried alot of fixes and nothing is working. I still get the "reboot and select boot device" message. Also the SSD that has the OS on works fine when I put it into my laptop. Which means ive done the update drivers check, checked the devices type i.e MBR or GPT. I have ordered the boot list to boot from the SSD, prioratised it too. The SSD shows as GPT so I made sure the BIOS setting where apropriate by means of boot mode using UEFI. I have also reset BIOS settings by removing the CMOS battery, cleaned all the parts of the hardware and still it just wont boot. Im stuck because it works in the laptop perfectly yet the PC acts as if there is no OS installed

reboot and select boot device
What Operating System and Version is installed on the drive?

There are several reasons that this can be happening. See if the following link helps.

Also while in the BIOS check to see if Legacy Boot option is activated.

Hi Demanimal, Welcome to PCHF! :)

Did you install the Operating System on the SSD from your laptop and then transfer the SSD to your PC? If you installed Windows with a different motherboard compared to what your PC uses then you might run into compatibility issues with getting the SSD to boot. If setting the BIOS to use UEFI doesn't work, try turning Secure Boot off and see if that helps.

If that does not work then I would see if enabling Legacy boot and setting the SSD as the first boot device helps with booting the system. If the SSD still does not boot successfully then you may need to just perform a clean install of Windows with the SSD in the PC.

Thank you all for the suggestions. BIOS sata was set to ACHI already. Also the OS was installed on the PC via usb onto the SSD. As for legacy boot I tried multiple configurations with it enable/disabled, still had no luck. Luckily I have fixed the issue by flashing the BIOS. So im thinking there may have been corrupted data somewhere.
Thank you for the responses though :)
