Yeah that seems likely. Maybe if I can find a cheap LGA 1155 board sometime, I'll try moving things over and see what's going on. (I assume it's totally not worth trying to find someone to diagnose and fix the MB haha) Thanks for the help! Thanks for the update, sorry that it is not better news though
Looks like the MB is bad I`m afraid as you would normally get error beeps if the board was good but the CPU had issues, you having tried a known good PSU supports this.
After making sure that the 4 pin and the 24 pin ATX power leads were securely connected, all RAM removed from the MB, the add on video card physically removed from the MB, the screen connected to the appropriate video port on the MB, when you power up the computer, do you hear any error beeps.
Yeah, my latest test was pulling out the RAM as well so the only thing was the CPU and the PSU (and the connections to the case that I didn't remove like the USB heads and LEDs).Going back to my reply #17, you never answered the following question that was asked, it would be wise to do so before contemplating replacing the MB, explanation, a functional MB that has a factory fitted or add on BIOS error speaker will give out error beeps if bad RAM or CPU issues are detected.
If my memory is correct you have previously swapped in a known good PSU so if no beeps after doing the above it more or less confirms a bad MB.
