Not the best of quality RAM but it does work one stick at a time so needs to be kept in mind but also given some credit.

From my reply #13;

Sorry to be so blunt but that PSU is of such poor quality that I wouldnt use it as a doorstop, labelled as being 500W but can only produce a maximum of 264W, get a better PSU asap or be prepared for a bang.
What do you think!

No Memtest until the PSU has been replaced as testing any hardware puts a computer under load and such a poor quality PSU could pop and take out all of your hardware.

Before you purchase any replacement PSU post a link so that the quality and specs can be checked, no point in you wasting any more cash.

Should you decide to purchase a replacement PSU without first of all posting the requested link here for it to be checked you will be on your own, our help may be free but likewise it is not to be ignored or taken for granted.

Yeah, I regret that I didn't ask first, since I've known this forum way back.

Nope and for the reason that is explained in the attachment below, to save us all some time can you post a link to where you will most likely make the purchase and we take a look and see if we can find any PSUs that are safe to use.

Tip
If using a computer and not a mobile phone, please avoid adding multiple posts while waiting for us to reply to your last, edit your last post to include anything that you wish to add, this will ensure nothing gets overlooked which can sometimes happen if a thread has more than one page, it avoids filling up folks inbox and last but not least it amounts to bumping your thread which puts folk to the bottom of any reply list.

I usually by from these two:

Or this, since it's in Mandarin, I thought I would help to find the unit first.

Since one of them is a chinese website, here's the name for psu in mandarin:

电脑供电电源

Least expensive that I would suggest is the Corsair here

As a rule of thumb I would not normally suggest the use of anything less than a Gold efficiency rated PSU be used when there is anything more than the most basic of GPUs involved but when the GPU has already been in use i drop it a notch to Bronze efficiency rated but no lower.

Just so that you are aware, the VS range of PSU was an earlier budget range of Corsair PSU that were not intended for anything more than a school or office type PC, VS = Value Series and this version of PSU has now been superseded by the CV range which to my thinking most likely means Corsair Value, the below is what Corsair recommend their CV PSUs be used for;

CORSAIR CV power supplies are ideal for powering your new home or office PC, with 80 PLUS Bronze efficiency guaranteed to continuously deliver full wattage to your system.

Avoid the temptation to go for anything less than the CX range of PSU and only use them with an add on GPU that is not out of the box new.

Deleted the users previous post as it was totally irrelevant and all that it has done is confuse the matter and I need to ask do you now have a Corsair CX 550M PSU powering the computer.

Thanks, see what I mean about how people that are offering no help at all can cause confusion :mad:

I possibly get a couple of hundred emails a day from around the world and can do without people posting nonsense that ends up in my inbox, it just means that genuine folk have to wait longer while I have to read the trash.
