Solved PC not booting up

Hi,
B560m d3h motherboard, intel core i5, Gigabyte GTX 1650

The PC would not switch on. I have tried a different power supply. I've systematically disconnected/ re-connected most of the peripherals.
When the HDMI power lead (top left corner of mother board) is plugged in it will not switch on at all. When it is unplugged the LED flashes on and the fans run for 20 seconds as if it wants to boot. It then switches off for a few seconds before powering up again for 20 seconds. It continues in that loop.
Any suggestions please? I'm learning as I go along and am starting from zero experience with PC building/ fixing.

On second thoughts, I don't think that socket I mentioned int he post above is for HDMI even thought HDMI is printed on the MB next to it. Having looked at the manual, I think that's the ATX socket. So basically, when the ATX socket is connected to the PS the PC will not turn on at all.

Gigabyte B560m d3h, Gigabyte GE Force GTX 1650, Intel i5, Samsung v-nand 980 pro SSD, Addon AWP1750E wi-fi card, Seagate barracuda 1TB hard drive.
The original PS was a gigabyte p650B. When the problem appeared, someone told me that might not be sufficient so I bought a P750GM modular PS. Same problem with both PS.

What happened exactly, did you get up one day and the PC would just not turn on for example.

How many sticks of RAM do you have.

Do you have a keyboard connected to the PC.

1 x 24-pin ATX main power connector
1 x 8-pin ATX 12V power connector

You can`t mistake HDMI with ATX connectors, your MB has the above.

Yes, keyboard connected.
Two sticks of RAM, 8GB each. it has viper written on it.

What happened: I tried to turn it on as usual and it was dead. Only when I removed the ATX power connector did it start up (and then go into the loop I mentioned above). When I plug the ATX connector in the LED flashes briefly but the fans don't turn on switch on.

You should have contacted the place of purchase and no slight intended but if you are not familiar with the difference between an ATX and a HDMI connector you should have contacted them straight away rather than opening the case as you have now voided you warranty.

Best thing that you can do is put the original PSU back in and then contact the seller to see what they advise, not suggesting that you be dishonest just only tell them that you tried to turn the PC on and found it to be dead, just make sure that you put the PSU connections back the exact way that you found them, ask here if not sure what goes where.

I agree with your points. Thank you for your advice.
Can you hazard a guess as to where the fault is more likely to be? Would it be most likely to be a problem with the motherboard, CPU or somewhere else?

You are welcome but as to the cause, being that we do not know what has transpired we cannot say for sure nut one contender is something got shorted out.

Hope the warranty claim goes ok.
