PC freezes

Hi everyone, im new to here and pcs I'm general. I have a question I'm not sure where to post. I bought a gaming pc 2 months ago to run iracing on. It ran the sim great for about 3 weeks but now it randomly freezes my pc and causes it to either reset itself or I have to do a hard reset. I can post more details I just want to make sure I post in the right place. I've contacted iracing but keep getting bot responses and I don't know where to turn for help. Thankyou!!

g'day and welcome.
I have move your thread to the Windows 10 forum.

to get the ball rolling, let's get your PC specs and do some quick tests...

download Speccy from here; https://www.piriform.com/speccy/builds
in Speccy, click File > Publish Snapshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.
paste that link into a post.
One area Speccy doesn’t show is the Power Supply Unit, so also include the make/model of the PSU.

also try these from an elevated command prompt;
  • chkdsk c: /r
  • sfc /scannow
  • dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
  • dism /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup /resetbase

No not yet, I have checked my drivers and gpu and cpu Temps and everything is running good and up to date yet it still randomly crashes. Ive sent tickets to ibuypower and iracing but to no avail, I don't know what else to do. My parts are all under warranty but the tech support is very lackluster even with the error logs they seem to disregard them and send automated responses:/

and the power supply too please - make, model, wattage?

being a new build, you'd have to be suspecting memory or storage at this early stage. but really, it could be anything.
since you only have one stick of 8GB RAM, it makes trying another stick a bit harder, unless you have one lying around?
also try creating another user account for that PC and log in under that and see if things change.

if still no luck, unplug the Seagate hard drive and just leave the Western Digital solid state drive connected.
assuming of course the racing game is installed onto the C:\ drive.

does the PC freeze when doing non-gaming stuff: Word, emails, web surfing etc?
if only when gaming, have you tried uninstalling all the game related software, so iracing, steam, etc and reloading them.

I'll let others chime in with their suggestions.
but if it were my new build, I'd save my data, wipe the PC and reload Win11 afresh then setup all my software and trial that for a few weeks.
reason being, it's going to be the first thing your retailer blames, and does, when they get it back, which would be my next step if the fresh reload didn't improve things.

Thankyou for the help! I know the wattage is 600W but the make and model ill have to check when I get home from work.

I was thinking maybe the memory because iracing updated a few weeks after I received the pc the minimum requirements went from 8gb to 16gb of raam but as I'm so new to the pc world I was afraid I was wrong.

It's only on the iracing sim that it freezes on and crashes, I can surf the web, watch videos. Play other games like call of duty etc with no problem. I've Uninstaller and reinstalled the game and it's files 2 times to no avail.

I greatly appreciate the help and I'll get back with an update asap, I'll wipe and reinstall, thankyou again!

while the wipe and reinstall should help, it's no guarantee, specially know we know the minimum req for the game is 16GB and you only have 8GB.
I'd be addressing that issue first as it's a much smaller hammer to use then the reinstall option. :)
plus the new gal will run so much better with 2 sticks of memory, as you aren't just doubling the RAM, you'll be then using dual channel mode.
double whammy effect!

so much better with 2 sticks of memory,
Agree
Speccy not showing ram specs (or am I stupid)
Can you download https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html
Run it
Click on the memory tab and post a screen shot
to take a screenshot of your entire screen by pressing the Windows logo key at the same time as the PrintScreen key (which could be labeled PrtScrn or PrtScr). The image will be saved in your Screenshots folder as a PNG file.

if you're stupid than so am I, as I also wasn't seeing the usual format in the RAM section that Speccy should show.
put it down to the mobo or memory brand not having the firmware values filled in correctly or Speccy not interfacing with the WMI sercvice properly.
