My wife dropped her laptop 10 years ago and it stopped working.
During lockdown I was bored so took it apart and got it working again.... It all works fine accept I don't know how to update it all as its obviously out of date and whenever I try to search on Google there's a problem with the certificate please can someone help me?? +
Please take it easy and try to explain in simple as possible as I'm not tech minded at all lol......

Yes I have but some updates fail
Some of them say a firewall is stopping it, I've disabled Windows firewall and tried but still no joy
The whole laptop needs updating because it's stuck in 2010 lol

Hi,

Have you considered updating the laptop to Windows 10? If the laptop does work with Windows 7 then it will most likely work with Windows 10 assuming the laptop has an SSD at least for improved performance.

You can update to Windows 10 for free and use the existing Windows 7 product key to activate it. If the hardware is decent enough its worth trying I think.

To avoid us having to ask for an update every couple of days we will close this thread until the OP has the time available to work towards resolving the issue, PM a member of staff when you are ready and the thread can be reopened.
