Solved No wireless networks showing

Hi,
My friend has a HP laptop (Win 10), when he clicks the wireless icon in taskbar the box pops up but nothing shows in it (My laptop shows 5 networks including his). I tried updating the network card driver but it still the same. Despite this the laptop is/was connected to his router.
Ordinarily this wouldn't be a problem but we changed the router wireless password so now we can't re-connect the laptop because we cant see the connection.

Any help gratefully received :)

Is your friend running the 1903 update? If so then it’s a known bug.
You can reset the router to default settings which will also reset the SSID & Passphrase to default, there should be a hole or reset button on it. The router should have the default details on it somewhere hopefully.

Open your device manager.
  • Hit the start button then copy and paste devmgmt.msc into the start search box hit enter.
  • Left click the + next to network adapters, right click and un-install your wireless driver.
  • Then your ethernet driver, make sure and do not tick the box that says delete driver.
  • Reboot your machine after you have completed this step!!
  • Windows will auto reinstall the drivers upon rebooting; this essentially refreshes the drivers.
