Last night after a short outage from my isp my pc says there is no internet on my network. I have confirmed that there is in fact internet on the wifi connection on other devices as well as through a hard line to my pc. Also my pc has no trouble connecting to another network or hotspot. I assume its the two devices communicating but don't know how to troubleshoot farther.

I have re installed drivers and reset router to factory default with no change.

i am on windows 11

So you are unable to connect via wireless on the trouble machine?

Step 1: Get System Info Log.

Include in your next reply a Get System Info log.
Save it to your desktop when complete.
Once you have the file on your desktop, then upload it here, and Here.
Copy the URL after your report is loaded.
Then send us the link. :)

Step 2 Run minitoolbox on Ethermet, then run it with ethernet disabled.:

Please downloaded MINITOOLBOX unzip to your desktop and run it as admin.
Checkmark following boxes:
Flush DNS
Reset FF proxy Settings
Reset Ie Proxy Settings
Report IE Proxy Settings
Report FF Proxy Settings
List content of Hosts
List IP configuration
List Winsock Entries
List last 10 Event Viewer log
List Installed Programs
List Users, Partitions and Memory size
List Devices (problems only)
Click Go and Attach the log in your reply.

Your winsock is twaked....

The first thing that we will do is download Junkware Removal Tool by Malwarebytes. Save it to your desktop run as admin, this is an outdated crapware removal tool, it will remove some junk but most important, this will create a restore point. I do not need to see the log from this, if you want to go back to before any of these steps you will have a restore point created....

Let's do this....

Download GeekUninstaller, then remove the following. Use force mode if needed.

BitTorrent (HKCU\...\BitTorrent) (Version: 7.10.5.46211 - BitTorrent Inc.)
Bonjour (HKLM\...\{56DDDFB8-7F79-4480-89D5-25E1F52AB28F}) (Version: 3.1.0.1 - Apple Inc.)
Mozilla Maintenance Service (HKLM\...\MozillaMaintenanceService) (Version: 96.0.2 - Mozilla)
NordUpdater (HKLM\...\{6E35DB82-3D19-4DD6-B8CB-F082815FDE18}_is1) (Version: 1.2.2.94 - Nord Security)
NordVPN (HKLM\...\{19465C24-3D5D-4327-B99F-3CC0A1D38151}_is1) (Version: 6.46.5.0 - Nord Security)
NordVPN network TAP (HKLM-x32\...\{97DEC5D6-2BE9-45BB-BFC5-274B851B486B}) (Version: 1.0.1 - NordVPN)
WebAdvisor by McAfee (HKLM-x32\...\{35ED3F83-4BDC-4c44-8EC6-6A8301C7413A}) (Version: 4.1.1.697 - McAfee, LLC)

Reboot your machine.

Then.... With Eterhnet connected and Wifi disabled!!

Open a notepad and copy the content of the code box below, paste into open notepad and save it to your desktop as 123.bat then right click on 123.bat and run as admin.

Note: Do not copy the word code.

Note: This batch will reboot your machine so close anything you are working on and save it.

Code:
@echo off
del /s /q C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\download\*.*
del /s /q "%userprofile%\AppData\Local\temp\*.*"
ipconfig /flushdns
netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh int ipv4 reset
netsh int ipv6 reset
netsh advfirewall reset
netsh advfirewall set allprofiles state ON
reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\IPSec\Policy\Local /f
reg add HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\IPSec\Policy\Local /f
netsh winhttp reset proxy
pause
shutdown -r
Exit /B

Just rebooted after following your steps still seeing this the wifi being no internet

Step 4:

Let me know if the same issue is there, if so we will replace your Winsock.reg files..... Just post a new minitoolbox and I will know what instructions to send next. :)

This tool is scripted to deal with issues such as your with ease, post the logs created and this should be fairly easy to take care of.

Please download the FRST 32 bit or FRST 64bit version to suit your operating system. It is important FRST is downloaded to your desktop.

If you are unsure if your operating system is 32 or 64 Bit please go HERE.
Once downloaded right click the FRST desktop icon and select "Run as administrator" from the menu"
icon2.jpg
If you receive any security warnings, or the User Account Control warning opens at any time whilst using FRST you can safely allow FRST to proceed.
FRST will open with two dialogue boxes, accept the disclaimer.
frst disclaimer.jpg

  1. Accept the default whitelist options,
  2. If the additions.txt options box is not checked please select it.
  3. Then select Scan
frst.jpg
Frst will take a few minutes to scan your computer, and when finished will produce two log files on your desktop, FRST.txt, and Addition.txt. They will display immediately on the desktop, but can be reopened later as a notepad file.

I found a usb wifi adapter around and tried it out of curiosity and it connects to my network just fine as all my other devices do. Which would make me think my onboard wifi function is going out but I am still able to use the onboard adapter to connect to any network except my home network without issue. Very odd to me

Download the winsock files attached to the post here.
Then unzip them to your desktop.
Right click each of them and select merge.
Then open elevated command prompt and type, or copy paste each of these.
netsh winsock reset catalog

netsh winsock reset

hit enter after each.
Then reboot your machine.

FRST Fix.
Download attached fixlist.txt file and save it to the Desktop. NOTE. It's important that both files, FRST/FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work. NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system Run FRST/FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run. When finished FRST will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post it to your reply.

Now tell me if the issue is still there please. :)
