Intermittent display issues with my PC

So my PC is in good health, albeit a little outdated.

Now and again, no display signal will reach the monitor.
Trying with HDMI, DVI and VGA.

Sometimes I got it working again by leaving the PC unplugged for a while,
Reseating the RAM and/or changing slots,
Jumping the CMOS or removing the battery for a while.

Just now I practically tried reseating each component, removing all peripherals, different wires, and still couldn't get a display signal!

Confuses me how it'll just happen when booting up at random, rest of the time everything works well!

Main specs are:
- Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P AM3+ Mobo
- AMD FX-6350 Black Edition CPU
- Gigabyte Radeon R7 260X Windforce 2x OC Rev.3 GPU
- 750 W Corsair RM series 80Plus gold modular PSU
- Corsair Vengeance Blue 8 GB DDR3 RAM

Really appreciate any ideas or help anyone has!
Thanks all!!!

could well be the GPU, or anything thing else really.
but GPU would be top of the list.

any chance you can get your hands on one for testing - friend, family, neighbour, work?

otherwise, for starts, you could strip the rig and reassemble it on a piece of cardboard on a table.
hopefully that process may highlight something, or just give an opportunity to clean everything!

I'll see if I can find anything around, thanks for the help guys! I know I have an old GPU somewhere.. ^^

Just so weird how it worked before by reseating the RAM or clearing the CMOS, or leaving it unplugged for a while. Probably turns out they had no actual bearing on the issue, just lined up to when it wanted to work or something ^^

Though this time I've not been able to get anything to work.

I'll let you know how it goes or if I find anything if you like :')

Thanks again!

just in case it is not the GPU, also try getting your hands on another PSU and memory if you can.
who knows - you may get lucky!
but at the end of the day, you are up to the "suck it and see" stage! :)
So I swapped out my GPU to a spare one I had.. no change.

Then put my original back in, and the display started working again! 🤔 So weird 🤣
Maybe the PCIe port is dodgy?

When it next plays up, I'll keep looking.
