Around 2 and a half months ago I built myself a gaming PC and had no issues with anything up until around 2 or three weeks ago, which is when my PC started to freeze and Everytime I logged into my PC it would freeze after a few seconds and sometimes after a few minutes after I had installed Adobe creative cloud, and when I uninstalled it and updated my nvdia graphics driver it stopped up until yesterday, when I downloaded and launched a game on steam, scp secret labratory. This issue has continued and will not stop, I reset my computer and reinstalled windows but kept my personal files, and installed discord, chrome, and steam again. It seemed promising, but after around 2 hours it just froze again while I was watching a YouTube video.

My PC specs are

Os - windows 10 pro
Motherboard - msi tomahawk b350
processor - AMD ryzen 5 1600
Ram - 2x4gb ddr4-2666 ballistix
graphics card - nvdia msi gtx 1070 ti Duke
hard drive - wd blue 1tb
Power supply - EVGA 550 b3 bronze

I am also using the razor death addor mouse and razor cynosa chroma keyboard which I thought might be causing some issues also.

Please go HERE and download the portable version of Speccy. Save it to somewhere you can find, locate the file and as it comes as a Zip file use your favorite unzip application to decompress it. Open the newly created folder and double left click Speccy.exe if you have a 32 bit system or Speccy64.exe if yours is 64bit. If you are not sure what your system is click HERE.

BTW: once you have finished with speccy and no longer want it removing it is easy because it is a portable app with no install. Simply delete the downloaded file and folder you created when you decompressed it. Gone:thumbsup:

Okay so here are my specs from speccy and the mini tool box errors, thanks for helping

Everything looks OK. Let's test your hardware.

Let's test your RAM to ensure your RAM is OK :)

  • Click Start, type mdsched.exe in the Search box, and then press Enter.
  • Choose whether to restart the computer and run the tool immediately or schedule the tool to run at the next restart.
  • Windows Memory Diagnostics runs automatically after the computer restarts and performs a standard memory test automatically. If you want to perform fewer or more tests, press F1, use the Up and Down arrow keys to set the Test Mix as Basic, Standard, or Extended, and then press F10 to apply the desired settings and resume testing.
  • When testing is completed, the computer restarts automatically. You’ll see the test results when you log on.

Awesome :)

  • Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  • When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  • When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following command into it, press Enter.

    Code:
    sfc /scannow
  • Wait for this to finish before you continue
  • Copy and paste the following command, press Enter.

    Code:
    findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > %userprofile%\Desktop\sfc.txt
That will create sfc.txt on your Desktop. Please attach sfc.txt to your next post:
  • Open Reply window. Click 'More Reply Options'.
  • Go to the end of your text (if any).
  • Click 'Choose Files..'
  • For 'File name' paste this: %userprofile%\Desktop\sfc.txt
  • Click the 'Add to Post' link which will appear on the right when the file has been uploaded.
  • Click 'Add Reply'.

It keeps freezing during the scan? Not good.

Let's stress test your GPU. Download Furmark and install it. After installation, run it and select GPU Stress Test. Let it run for about 30 minutes or so. If it errors out, reboots the computer, or shuts the computer down, your GPU is failing. Let us know the results :)

Okay so it's been a few days and I got a new hhd, after I checked the connections of the old hard drive and everything else on the PC I received my new hard drive and reinstalled it replacing the old one. This has proven to be ineffective though because upon reinstalling windows ten it freezes during the install process, but remains completely fine in the bios screen and in the windows ten install menus.

Okay so I did get windows ten installed using a different method which seemed to work fine, and I ran the scan you asked me to run in cmd and here are the results, and it does say there are corrupted files

Hello Sharquake, this thread is still view-able. Sorry no one has gotten back to you sooner.

While you are waiting on a reply from @jmarket , I have a question that will assist in troubleshooting this issue.

You mentioned that you have installed a new hard drive but still having issue, have you tried using a different sata cable and/or using a different sata port?

While it is less likely than a bad hard drive, both a bad sata port or cable could give issues like the ones you are reporting.

I have tried using a different sata cable and I have checked the connections multiple times, I might look into buying a new sata cable though, thanks for getting back to me.

So after I rearranged my sata cable port to the motherboard I turned on my PC once more, to which it did the same freezing thing in windows, so retarded the PC, but this time the monitor boots into power saving mode and keyboard and mouse aren't lighting up. Also note that when I booked the PC into safe mode this wasn't happening and in the bios screen is wasn't freezing either. I think I may just have someone I know who fixed computers come look at it and see if they can fix it for me. If you feel that you don't know if you can help me fix this wierd issue then you don't have to help anymore, you've already been a great help to me so far and I am extremely greatful.

At this point I would suggest having someone do a repair on it. Sounds like the motherboard could be the culprit.

We are very grateful that you have come to us for help, and I'm sorry we weren't able to get it fixed. :( But sometimes it happens. I do hope you will continue to be a member here and come to us whenever you have issues
