Hello everyone,

I recently bought various components to build my pc, I managed to install everything correctly and for about a week there was no issue with it.

However, 3 days ago when I booted my pc, nothing displayed on my monitor. So after checking inside I saw that the error leds for DRAM/CPU where flashing.

Before I explain further here are my specs :
  • OS : Windows 10
  • MB : ASUS ROG Strix Z490-A
  • CPU : INTEL Core i5 10600KF
  • GPU : MSI RTX 3070 Gaming x trio
  • RAM : 2x Corsair Vengeance PRO 16Gb 2666 Mhz
  • Watercooling : Corsair H100i RGB Platine
  • PowerSupply : COOLER MASTER MWE Gold V2 (750 W)
  • Case : BE QUIET! Pure Base 500DX
  • (2 monitors)
To try an resolve this issue here is what I have already tried doing :
  • Tested both RAM sticks in a friend's setup : working fine
  • Took out CPU and checked the pins : everything ok
  • Tried booting with only one monitor instead of two : did not resolve anything
  • Tried booting with only one RAM at the time and also by switching slots (And checked recommended slots in manual) : did not resolve anything
This is all I could do within my knowledge and that's why I am now asking you guys if you are able to help me.

I should maybe add that every component is brand new.

Thanks in advance

so the CPU LED and the memory LED were both flashing red?

the mobo manual doesn't shed much light as to the cause and their support page simply state to remove, clean and reseat the memory or CPU.
not much help and something it sounds like you already have done.

good news is the unit is under warranty and I'd be calling either ASUS or the parts retailer for some support.
bad news is you'll be spending a few hours down the rabbit hole while they get you to jump through all the hoops.
