New GPU works in friends computer, but not mine.

Bought this GTX 1660 Super, for my super old outdated setup:
  • i5-2310 2.9Ghz LGA 1155
  • Foxconn H61/H61M-S (this might be the worst part, dunno)
  • 16gb DDR3

It works with integrated graphics and with my old GPU, the GTX 550 ti.
When I install the new GPU, it displays "DIEBOLD" logo, which is the bootscreen (suggests keys for BIOS and BootScreen), but it stays there for a very long time.
Then, it goes blank, and after a minute or so, the same BIOS screen appears, but looks like a different resolution and with some artifacts.
Then, it goes blank again, never to return, unless I do the process all over again.

I've already tried uninstalling the display drivers with DDU.
I can't access the BIOS with the new GPU, but I tried changing some settings without a gpu regarding display and PCI, but no success, after installing it again.
I might try resetting the CMOS again just to be sure...
Also, I searched like hell for a BIOS update, since everyone would suggest it, my BIOS version is:
American Megatrends Inc. B93P9S03, 04/07/2012
I couldn't find and official website for updates, since Foxconn apparently doesn't have a website anymore, and I couldn't figre out if the files I found throughout the internet were newer or older versions of the BIOS.

Could any of you help me through this process, it's been a pain in the, I would really appreciate it!

hmmm... some quick Googling would confirm your thoughts.
couldn't find BIOS updates and I'd be wary to get them off a third party site unless you had some way to verify the package.

my guess is that your issue is simply incompatibility - a really new GPU with a really old motherboard.
good chance a BIOS upgrade could help, as they update the firmware to support newer hardware.
but it could also be the PCI gen difference as well.

may want to look at a new mobo, but that then opens up a lot of other issues - new RAM, maybe new processor.

Hey, guys! Thank you for the replies.
Could be also be the PSU.
I have a 500w Corsair PSU, I think it's enough for my setup.

Yes, looking for a new mobo all of these problems, but maybe it's the necessary...
I am looking to update this setup some time soon, just thought I could upgrade it part by part.
I'm afraid the GPU is ****ed up and I make all of this investment for it to break a month from now...
I think I'll start looking for a new kit...

According to what I have found NO.

Considering the fact that PSU can output only 408 Watt.

The GPU requires a minimal of 450 watts.

FYI
