Need helping choosing a UPS/surge protector

Hello, I am seeking to upgrade from a surge protection power strip to a UPS/surge protector. How do I choose the right one? Which brand is the best? I am used to unplugging the main cable and the internet when I am not using the PC; can I unplug the UPS at the end of the workday also, or will that cause some kind of reset? Thank you!

in short, any UPS is better than no UPS, so it doesn't matter a great deal at all what you get.
what you pay for is the number of minutes you want the UPS battery to supply power for you.
I've never wanted that side of a UPS, my aim in using them is to have the AC sine wave cleaned up.
for me their greatest benefit is in removing the peaks, troughs, brown-outs, shunts, surges and general 'dirty' supply of current.
the added benefit is the few minutes of power they give to allow me to save my work and shut down properly.

I read somewhere, ages ago, that there are around 11 or 13 potential issues with AC current and my last UPS dealt with 7 of those.
the better the unit, the more potential issues it caters to.
