I'm looking to install an internal disc drive, but i don't know what ports are what on my motherboard. I don't know if I even have the correct ports left.

My PC has the following specs:

I've already contacted the company where i bought the parts for support and, thinking they would actually do their research and tell me whether or not i had the correct ports, I bought the LG-GH24NS they recommended me. Would this one work and what cables would I need? Hopefully someone can help me with this problem.

Just to add to vger's advice

The cd/dvd you quoted is a sata drive, and your motherboard has 7 sata ports, and according to the Speccy summary you posted 2 of those sata ports will have been used already, meaning you have ample spare ports.

To connect that drive you will need a sata data cable, and a spare drive bay. You will also need a sata power cable connector which you may already have as unused spare from your PSU.

Alright so I've installed the drive and plugged in both of the cables, but now when I start up my pc, an error comes up saying "An operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system. Press ctrl+alt+del to restart."

I've tried putting in the boot disc for the drive before and after startup, and I've tried completely unplugging the drive but the error still comes up. How do I fix this?

Update: After doing a bunch of unplugging and plugging back in on my hard drive and SSD, I got it to work again. No idea what was wrong, but it's working now so that's great.

I plugged the DVD drive back in again and everything is working perfectly now!

Thanks for all of the help, I appreciate it.
