Solved My SD card is not being read on any device

Hi, I'm new here, sorry if I broke any forum rules. The problem is that I had a mini CD card for about 5 years and for some reason I decided to store relatively important things on it, which I shouldn't have done. So, about a week ago was the last time I used it and it was acting strange, meaning that when I connected it, it didn't read it, but if I took it out and put it back in like 3 times, it would finally read it. The problem is that today, even if I take it out and put it back in, it won't read it. I tried looking for it in programs like TestDisk and it didn't appear, I tried in Windows and Ubuntu, I tried it on a phone and it didn't read it either. I used the command "dmesg" and many identical messages came up saying "[ 6133.200338] mmc1: error -110 whilst initialising SD card [ 6135.576025] mmc1: error -5 whilst initialising SD card".

What can I do?

Complete instructions..
Your SD card can be recognized under Disk Management, but it's inaccessible. That is to say, the device becomes RAW. You can fix it in two ways - use CHKDSK or format the SD card. If the SD Card is detected but cannot open, run CHKDSK to scan for errors!

It doesn't recognize any SD card, the only indication that it is connected is to go to Linux and run dmesg, and the message I mentioned above appears.

g'day and welcome to the forums.

if the card is not recognised in any device, or by different operating systems, then sadly the card has died.
if the data is critical, you may want to invest in the experience of a professional data recovery expert, but these guys tend to charge very impressively, so the data needs to be worth it.

welcome to the world of backups! (even though that horse has bolted) :)

as stated - you don't have many options. :oops:

it won't help you now, but in case there is a next time - the moment the card started to require multiple attempts to access its data, you should have saved what you could then.

all storage mediums will fail - that's why we do backups.

if the card is not readable in any other device, and you don't want a data recovery expert to look at it, then I see no other option but to consider the card dead.
even if you did get it to read, by some lucky fluke, I doubt the files are still intact.

you haven't got the files in some other location - emails, online, recycle bin, another PC?
where did the files come from?
