Hi, my old PC (Windows 7) is working extreamly slow even after Windows re-installation. Did general optimisation(like switch off effects, defragment, deep antivirus scan, clear cookies and other not necessary data...) still situation does not improve. Realise that there are a lot of quationable processes running and 32bit softwares as windows version is 64bit. Problem is that most of the actions takes few seconds to respond, sometimes opening window freeze. Any suggestion?

Windows 7 is no longer supported meaning no more hotfixes for it which leaves it at risk of malware attack, how come you haven't upgraded to Windows 10 for free while you still can.

If the computer is a desktop can you post the brand and model name or number of the power supply (PSU).

Download then run Speccy (free) and post the resultant url for us, details here, this will provide us with information about your computer hardware + any software that you have installed that may explain the present issue/s.

To publish a Speccy profile to the Web:

In Speccy, click File, and then click Publish Snapshot.

In the Publish Snapshot dialog box, click Yes to enable Speccy to proceed.

Speccy publishes the profile and displays a second Publish Snapshot. You can open the URL in your default browser, copy it to the clipboard, or close the dialog box.

Hi, thank you for your help. I installed Windows 7 as desktop PC is vry old (more than 10 years old) and newer version of windows requires more resources. I even was thinking to install Windows XP, but used to use windows 7 and it use to work OK, very good after new version of Windows.

Speccy is showing an overheating GPU and some high voltages.

You have missed providing the PSU information and being that it is most important that we have it we we have come to a stop.

NB: Apart from my 2GB of RAM being in dual channel mode (2 Xs 1GB DDR2) your specs are better than mine on this notebook which is running W 10 pro.

You have done well to keep such an awful quality PSU going for so long, check the links in my sig and you will see that Codegen are on the avoid list, there is also no way that it can produce anywhere near 400W.

What I suggest, remove the add on video card from the computer altogether and use the MBs integrated video.

If I may jump in.

Hi, my old PC (Windows 7) is working extreamly slow even after Windows re-installation.
How what steps were taken where did the install media come form?

I see that you have installed DriverMax get rid of it nothing but snake oil. Usually miss read the hardware, install old version and or can get the drives that are hacked and end up allowing infections into your system.

Why we will always have you go to the system manufacture to get the proper drives some are proprietary to the hardware.

Thanks. Will try that. Any other suggestions from software perspective? I will try to unistall DriverMax as per Rustys suggestion, but I think that main issues are with sotware side rather that hardware.
