On 29th may when I opened my laptop (hp 250 G1 notebook) I saw that some of the keys had stopped working. (Letters t and y, right side ctrl, hyphen, home, 5 and 6, F1 f2 f3 and F10)
After a while some of the keys started to open different functions from the task bar.
Like, 1 opened my files, 2 - mozilla, basically all the numbers till 4 opened every app on the task bar serially.
Then the letter E would exit apps or sometimes even logout. M would minimize.
the problem still persists. For sometime the working keys function right then ho back to being defective again.

i have tried reinstalling the driver, thought that their might be dust under the keyboard so opened it and cleaned it, tried restoring the system, nothing has worked.
so I thought maybe it's a hardware problem, so I connected an external USB keyboard to check.
my laptop responds to all the keys on the external one, but still the problem of opening random apps persists.
Also all the keys function right on the on screen keyboard, and to add to it, when on screen keyboard is on, the keys on the keyboard that open random apps, they also work right.
what do I do

Ensure the Function key isn’t active.
If you have software installed for changing keyboard settings ensure that any ‘swap Fn key’ isn’t enabled/disabled.
There’s a possible key combo for changing this - Fn + Fn lock.
On my Logitech software if this is active I have to hold Fn & then click the F# key to select the specific function.
