so, my motherboard does not have a 20 or 24 pin power connector. only a 4 pin. I read on a forum that i could jumper the 24 pin to power it with 4 pin atx. that ended up frying my board. the board came with a power cable but i didn't recognize the female end, so i kinda jumped the gun and i guess this is what i get. I just wanna know why my board got fried, what this female connector is, and if this board is still salvageable or rendered worthless. the pictures are of the power cable it came with and the spot on the board that got damaged. "ms-9887 ver 1.2" is what the board is called. Any ones' help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome to PCHF!

If you could, take a picture of the whole motherboard. I just want a full visual.

From what you have said and what I see, it is most likely going to be new mobo time.
